Promotion tips for your business

If you want to let more potential customers know you’re in business then consider promoting your business to other local businesses and to the local area. Why not consider:
  • A featured profile article on your business
  • A customer e-newsletter
  • Facebook blasts and ads
Tip #1 Visit all of the companies/small businesses in the surrounding area of your business and hand them a small leaflet with some kind of special like 20% off, a loyalty card or a two-for one deal. (Don't forget to ask for their emails if they want to be on your mailing list.)

Tip #2 Consider a leaflet drop for the locals in your Town/City. People love discounts or soemthing free. A local leaflet drop can be very cost effective, its non intrusive and hits them in a timely manner. Get a well designed leaflet printed on good quality paper and delivered locally by: you, your staff, friends and family (that's usually pushing it though) or delivered by a reliable local specialist. AND REPEAT. Never just do one leaflet drop and then leave it - you are wasting your money. A regular distribution will get you noticed and expected. Better to do less househelds, but more often than lots just once.

We can help you brainstorm more promotional ideas, write your leaflets, print your leaflets, deliver your leaflets and put a big push out on social media or an optimized press release. A free one hour marketing consultation is FREE. So book your appointment NOW. Call me on 07803 171 076.

80% of the UK's top advertisers use Door Drops

With a door drop, you get a direct, measurable and cost effective way to gain more customers.

A leaflet reaches your customers in their homes. It’s not a phone call that annoys them when they’re relaxing, it’s not a jingle constantly repeated on the radio. It’s a piece of communication they can look at when they want to.

It should not arrive with the rest of the post - alongside other letters or parcels that may be considered more important. Your leaflet should stand out and have a good call to action or make them an offer – one they’ll want to take advantage of. It could be a discount coupon or an invitation to take the next step on their customer journey. Here are some key stats about dor 2 dor marketing:

Cost-effective

With a leaflet, you can find new customers for as little only 4 to 5p per household. Even with design and print costs, it’s a very inexpensive way to put your message directly into the hands of the people you’re targeting. Every door drop campaign will strengthen your brand and your company and bring you more business. No other medium can come close..

Adults 'unaware of NHS data plans'

Fewer than a third of adults recall getting a leaflet about changes to the handling of medical records, a poll for BBC Radio 4's PM programme suggests.
The NHS in England is set to collect data on patient care by GPs for the first time, uploading some of the information to a database.
#Leaflets explaining the scheme, and how to opt out, should have been sent to 26.5 million households in January
But only 29% of 860 adults polled by ICM Research recalled getting one.
According to the poll, about 45% of people remain unaware of the plan to share some data from GP medical records.

Of course, this #leaflet was delivered with the post, which means recipients are more likely to pay more attention to the letters than the #leaflets.

According to research by Marketing Week "87% of consumers remember door drops".

For a better response rate, it is advisable to have leaflets delivered #solus or part of a shared #leaflet only drop - not with the post of with newspapers (which can lower response rates).

Why Paper Still Beats Screens

The Reading Brain in the Digital Age: Why Paper Still Beats Screens...

E-readers and tablets are becoming more popular as such technologies improve, but reading on paper still has its advantages... Read more

An interesting debate with lots of comments:

  • Try lending an e-book to a friend... you hand over your entire library
  • From an investment point of view old books increase in value. I can't see the same happening with old e-books
  • One big problem with having all of your books on an e-reader is that if you are doing research you can't have half-a-dozen books open at the same time to compare their contents
