I’m often told “I’ve been quoted £25/1000 for leaflet distribution from company xyz, so why would I pay your prices?” and my initial thoughts are well good luck with them. In my experience the less you pay the worse the service you get. At Dor-2-Dor our prices are not the cheapest, but the results we get and the services we offer are the best value.
The old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ is a familiar one - what many people don’t realise is that when it comes to leaflet distribution it is a simple matter of maths. If the company isn't charging enough to cover their costs for the distribution then how will they make a profit?
For this company to be making any kind of real profit either there is foul play involved - as we have seen over the years and heard from customers. They use methods such as not delivering all of your leaflets by over quoting for the area of distribution e.g. charging for an area as 10,000 households when there is only 6,000 households or just simply not delivering all of your leaflets. This way you may be paying £25/1000 but they are actually earning up to double that if they are only delivering half of your leaflets. These companies eventually go out of business as they ultimately run out of clients to cheat. Once these clients realise they get a much better response by paying a proper price.
Just going with the cheapest price isn’t always the best option, just think what would you go for if you were buying a parachute! Would you go for the cheapest possible option? You should always do some research into the company you are looking at, do they have good reviews anywhere? www.freeindex.co.uk is always a good place to look or www.trustpilot.co.uk. Does their website look professional? Do they have customer reviews on their own website. You need to think about conducting long-term business with this company and if something does not seem right, do you really want to work with them?
Leaflet distribution is all about creating the right impression for your customer. This means an eye-catching and professional design, targeted distribution that will reach the right audience and delivery by reliable conscientious deliverers. We regularly speak to clients whose leaflet campaigns have gone wrong and you only have to talk to them to understand why.
So consider this when choosing your distribution company. When it comes to cheap leaflet distribution you really do get what you pay for and if something seems cheap then there is always a reason why.
